14 - Biometrics Monitoring

AI Tools

Biometrics Monitoring integrates with external devices, such as VR headsets and wearable sensors to capture real-time monitoring of vital signs, including heart rate, eye movement, and more.

By analyzing biometric data through AI, it can offer personalized, adaptive responses, such as modifying audio levels or slowing down interactions for users with sensory processing differences.

For instance, predictive and perceptual AI technology can enhance gaming experiences for individuals subject to motion sickness caused by the equipment of VR head-mounted devices. In 2020, Liao et al. introduced a predictive and perceptual AI model designed to predict motion sickness caused by factors such as mismatches between observed and expected sensory signals while using a VR device (2020). By analyzing brainwave data collected from a headset worn on the forehead, the AI system can potentially improve users' experiences in VR games with high triggering rates for motion sickness, such as rollercoaster simulators (Liao et al. 2020).
